According to Greek mythology, Zeus was once seized by a violent headache, a celestial migraine. His howling echoed throughout Olympus, drawing the attention of Hephaestus, Zeus’s son and a blacksmith by trade. In an effort to ease his father’s pain, Hephaestus fetched a bronze axe, making a breach in Zeus’s skull. From this breach sprang Athena with a mighty shout, fully grown and armed.
