The painting was produced during the Spring of 2023 and depicts the iconic Little Venice of Mykonos island that lies within the Aegean Sea in Greece.

When I started thinking about this picture, I wanted to capture this scene during a sunset and depict the windy weather for which the Aegean Sea is known for at the same time.

Whilst producing the draft on the canvas, I instinctively drew a series of curved lines to represent the sky and sea, which formed the basis for the painting.

Having completed the draft, I began adding the oil paint using a series of brush stroke,s aiming to create a textured effect using a plethora of complementary colours.
